Sketch development of LED Luminaire

In 1960s, technology workers developed the LED light-emitting diode by using the principle of semiconductor pn junction. At that time, LED was made of GaASP and its luminous color was red. After nearly 30 years of development, LED, which is well known to many people, has been able to emit red, orange, yellow, green and blue colors. However, the white light LED used for lighting only developed after 2000. Here is a brief introduction to the white LED used for lighting.

Sketch Development History:
The LED light source, which was first produced by the principle of semiconductor P-N junction, was first published in the early 1960s. The materials used at the time were GaAsP, red light (lambda p=650nm), when the driving current was 20 mA, the luminous flux was only a few thousandths of the lumen, and the corresponding optical visual efficiency was about 0.1 lumens / watts.
In the middle of 70s, the elements In and N were introduced to make LED produce green light (lambda p=555nm), yellow light (lambda p=590nm) and orange light (lambda p=610nm), and the luminous efficiency also increased to 1 lumens / tiles.
By the beginning of 80s, the GaAlAs LED light source appeared, making the red LED's luminous efficiency of 10 lumens / tiles.
In the early 90s, the development of two new materials of red and yellow GaAlInP and green and blue GaInN made the LED's luminous efficiency greatly improved.

In 2000, the light efficiency of the former LED in the red and orange region (lambda p=615nm) reached 100 lumens / watts, and the LED in the green region ([lambda] p=530nm) could reach 50 lumens / watts.
